Q. What is Pilates?A. Founded by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s. It's a full body, challenging workout consisting of low-impact exercises. It improves overall posture alignment, abdominal and overall muscle strength as well as flexibility. The focus is on the exercise, ultimately strengthening and isolating the correct muscle and connecting to your breath is paramount in Pilates.

Q. What are the different types of Pilates?A. Mat Pilates: is a strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that focuses on the whole body. All you need is you & an exercise mat! Reformer Pilates: assists with strengthening, lengthening, balance & toning your body from head to toe. It is performed on a bed-like moveable frame that uses varied weighted spring combinations to create resistance and challenge the body when moving the carriage back & forth. Use of exercise-props will sometimes be involved in a Pilates class to either assist or provide added challenge which the instructor will direct you how to use.

Q. What is Barre?A. It's a low impact, high intensity workout combining exercises from Pilates and Ballet inspired movements -however, it does not involve Ballet dancing! It involves use of exercise-props during class however, these are optional.

Q. Who can do Pilates and Barre?A. Everyone! From beginner to advanced the instructor will modify the class to each individuals’ needs and abilities. Always notify your instructor if it’s your first class/ beginner, pregnant or have injuries (if any). Remember a once-off 'Health Waiver Form' is to be completed for your Initial Pilates Assessment. It will be emailed to you or can be completed in Studio prior commencing your session (give 10minutes to complete).

Q. What to wear and bring to class?A. Wear comfortable, non-restrictive activewear. Please bring a bottle of water, clean pair of socks (non-slip grip socks are preferable and available to buy in Studio) and towel if you feel you'll need it. Bringing your own Pilates/ Yoga Mat for class is optionall.

Q. What is the Cancellation Policy?A. A strict cancellation policy applies to all classes booked in advance. We understand life can get in the way, however, we need to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity. If you can't make your scheduled session, please contact us directly 24hrs in advance as full payment/ session deduction from your class-pass will apply.

Q. Is there Studio standards since COVID-19?Yes. Hand sanitiser is provided. Please allow time for cleaning of exercise equipment in-between classes to help prevent cross-infection. If a client wishes to wear a face-mask it is optional but not essential. Please contact the Studio as soon as possible before your allocated session if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms. Thank you for your co-operation.
